Hilton Petaling Jaya appoints Markus Kaliss as Director of Business Development

The Hilton Petaling Jaya recently appointed Markus Kaliss as Director of Business Development. Markus will spearhead five divisions, Revenue, Sales, Banquet, Marketing Communications and the Hilton Diamond Club Loyalty Program.

Leading a team of around 35 team members, Markus, with over 10 years of hospitality experience, is tasked with the handling of Business Development and Sales and Marketing strategies. He will lead and direct the team to increase the business market share for the hotel, and will also oversee the planning and implementation of advertising and public relations plans, ensuring its synergy with the sales and banquet directions.

Hilton Petaling Jayas customers comprise primarily corporate then travel agent business. For banquet, yields are from the MICE market. In addition, the hotel has a good core of F&B patrons.

Markus has a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of the Asian market having worked in other Asian destinations like Phuket, China, the Philippines and Maldives.

Prior to joining Hilton Petaling Jaya, Markus was the revenue manager with Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa. A native German, Markus has worked with other four and five-star properties around the world. He is also fluent in English.

Hilton Petaling Jaya is a 5-star international hotel comprising 553 rooms, five Food & Beverage outlets, and 19 function rooms including a Ballroom that can accommodate 1,000 people.
