InterContinental Hotels Group has boosted its presence in the Shanghai market with the opening of the Crowne Plaza Fudan Shanghai, a newly constructed 19 floor, 309 room property in the rapidly developing Yangpu District of Puxi.

“The Crowne Plaza Fudan Shanghai marks a new concept of luxury accommodation for Shanghai,” said Shou Wei Guang, Chairman of the Board of Shanghai Fudan SIG Academic Exchange Centre. “It will cater not just to the large number of academic and conferences hosted here, but also to the many travelers who want truly luxurious accommodations away from the noise and crowds of downtown Shanghai. We are confident in our partnership with the InterContinental Hotels Group, whose powerful branding and experience has allowed us to create an exceptional venue.”

The hotel located across from Fudan University embraces its surroundings, with a sprawling garden and glass-roofed lobby featuring massive windows designed to capture the abundance of natural light and welcome the beautiful scenery into the hotel.

The Crowne Plaza Ballroom and the five meeting rooms on the second floor have been designed with a pre-function area overlooking the hotel entrance and garden. Each room is equipped the latest state of the art audiovisual technology, providing an ideal venue for meetings, banquets, and seminars. The conference rooms are flexible and provide for meetings of 10-600 people. Rounding off the facilities are a full-service Business Centre and two additional meeting rooms on the third floor.

The Crowne Plaza Fudan Shanghai boasts four Food & Beverage venues, serving both Western and Chinese food. While private rooms are available for special functions, a unique feature is that many of these venues, such as the show-kitchen Café Mix and the Terrace Bar offer al-fresco dining and drinks on some of the hotel’s many terraces. For hosting private events, the unique rooftop Chancellor’s Club is an exclusive private dining and function area, offering a wide range of facilities from meeting rooms and lounge to two outdoor terraces overlooking the green campus below.
