Galileo signs agreements with Jetstar and Valuair

Travel News Asia Friday, 18 August 2006

Galileo International has signed two new agreements that will see the fares and inventory of two of Asia’s fastest growing low cost carriers, Jetstar and Valuair, added to the Galileo GDS.

Content for both Jetstar and Valuair will be distributed via Galileo’s Basic Booking Product (BBP) giving them access to an extensive network of travel agents across Asia Pacific and the rest of the world. The carriers join sister company Jetstar Airways, the Australian-based low cost carrier, which has been distributing its content via Galileo since 2004.

Ms Chong Phit Lian, CEO, Jetstar said, “We are pleased to join hands with Galileo to further strengthen our distribution channels in Asia and extend our content to other markets in the region and globally that are demanding our low fares. This strategic move allows us to be more accessible, and expand our sales potential via the most effective and tested travel agent route.”

The collaboration with Jetstar and Valuair is set to benefit Galileo-connected travel agents by providing new opportunities to increase sales with this new content available directly on their desktops. Both Jetstar and Valuair join over 50 other Low Cost Carriers around the world that are using the Galileo GDS as a distribution channel.
