Taiwan launches Online Honeymoon Photo Contest

Travel News Asia Wednesday, 16 August 2006

Taiwan Visitor Association (TVA) has launched the “Enjoy your second honeymoon in beautiful Taiwan!” Online Photo Contest, aiming to reproduce the sweet and romantic experience for married couples (from Hong Kong, Malaysia, or SIngapore) that once chose Taiwan as their honeymoon or wedding photo shoot destination. The winning couples will win a trip to revisit the island of Formosa to recapture their memory of love.

The online photo contest is open for entries from today until 12pm at 14th September 2006. Contestant or referee can simply select one favorite photo that was taken during their or their referrer’s honeymoon or wedding photo-shoot in Taiwan, and upload onto TVA’s official website: https://goto-taiwan.net. Then, all submitted photos will be released on the website for an online ballot in which the public and TVA judge panel will vote for the best photo that represents the most lovable and romantic honeymoon in Taiwan.

Two prizes, namely Best Photo Award and Sun Moon Lake Award, will be granted to two winning couples. The winning couple of the two awards will receive an all-expense paid “second honeymoon” in Taiwan for 6 days and 5 nights.

There will also be a special prize, Diamond Award that will be awarded to the eldest couple contestants in all three countries. The winning couple of this award will receive an all-expense paid family holiday in Taiwan with at most two children for 6 days 5 nights.

With the creation of Sun Moon Lake Award, TVA hopes to build an international image of the infamous Sun Moon Lake that is located in Nantou County, central Taiwan. The legendary lake is the biggest natural lake in Taiwan and it is one of the best scenic wonders across Asia.
