Singapore Airlines to boost flights during Year End Peak Period

Singapore Airlines is expanding capacity to India and Australia to cater for traditionally higher demand in the year-end, especially over the Christmas and New Year periods.

In December 2005, the airline will mount an extra flight to Delhi on Saturdays. This will increase in January 2006, with two more flights added on Tuesday and Thursday; making this a 10 times weekly service.

Also in January 2006, flights to Amritsar will increase from thrice weekly to four times weekly when the airline mounts a supplementary flight on Saturdays.

With greater demand for travel to Australia, Singapore Airlines is also operating two supplementary flights to Perth, making it a 21 times weekly service to the city. These extra flights, on Wednesday and Friday, will be in effect till end January 2006.

The airline is also planning to launch supplementary flights to Taiwan and Malaysia in early 2006.
