June Seah and Justin Guo join Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa

Travel News Asia 8 June 2005

The Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa on Hainan Island, China, has added two key personnel to its pre-opening team.

Mr Justin Guo (Director of Business Development) will implement sales and marketing strategies to place the resort and Sanya on the international travel map within the next two years.

An MBA (Business Development and Marketing) graduate from East China University, with a certification in Rooms Management from Cornell University, the native Shanghainese began his 15-year career in the hotel industry with the then newly opened Westin Shanghai in 1991. Five years later, he joined Hilton Shanghai as an Executive Management Trainee and rose through the ranks from Front Office and Rooms Division to the position of Director of Operations.

Thereafter, it was at Hilton Beijing where he further consolidated his foundation in operations. Guo’s extensive experience also saw him serving a two-month stint as the re-branding team leader for the Hilton Shenzhen.

Ms June Seah (Marketing & Communications Manager) comes directly from Phuket, the famous tourist island in southern Thailand. From one tropical island to another, Seah will capitalize on her experience to initiate marketing and public relations campaigns that will establish Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa as the niche getaway for the rapidly rising affluent Chinese as well as the savvy international travelers looking for an all-in-one holiday destination.

Prior to her appointment, the bilingual Singaporean spent five years in Phuket establishing herself in hotel public relations and communications, first with the renowned Blue Canyon Country Club as PR and Events Manager. She then moved on to Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket as Director of Marketing Communications and was later transferred to the Destination Marketing arm for the owning company of Laguna Phuket as Marketing Communications and E-Commerce Manager.

Seah holds a BA degree from the University of Singapore. She is also fluent in Thai and speaks Bahasa Indonesia. She will be based in the resort’s Shanghai office.
