Based in Shanghai, Carrie Chen, Sales Manager, Travel Industry & MICE, and Connie Wang, Sales Manager, Corporate & Government, will boost the regional sales team with specialist experience and tap the vast potential of China’s exponential travel growth.

“Domestic and international travel in China is growing rapidly with increasing affluence and consumer sophistication as well as more leisure time with the introduction of the five-day work week and government gazetted holidays,” said Carmen Lam, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Asia Pacific, InterContinental Hotels Group. “With a bigger and specialised team in place to generate demand for our 3,500 hotels worldwide, we will be able to capture the tremendous opportunities presented, drive growth in major market segments and revenue performance for the group from China,”

Reporting to William Lau, Director, Regional Sales, Asia Pacific, the team is made up of:

Carrie Chen, Sales Manager, Travel Industry & MICE: With over 12 years of experience and an extensive network of contacts in the travel industry in China, Carrie will be one of the key proponents in supporting the group’s development strategies in tapping China tourism.

Connie Wang, Sales Manager, Corporate & Government: With her experience in cultivating relationships with high end business and leisure customers, Connie will be working closely with the group’s Hong Kong corporate sales team and key account directors worldwide to manage a portfolio of global corporate accounts. She will also focus on developing homegrown corporate and government accounts within China to capture opportunities for the group’s hotels around the world.
