Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts to open new Hotel in Canada

Travel News Asia 4 July 2005

Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts is adding one more hotel to its existing portfolio of 24 properties later this month. The Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre will be opening its doors to guests on 15 July 2005, making it the 25th hotel for the Group and the 5th hotel in North America.

Located in the heart of Whistler Village, it is moments away from the base of both the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, just 150 kilometers north of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. When open holiday makers will be able to choose from two Pan Pacific properties at Whistler - Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre, the brand new 83-unit all-suite urban luxury boutique resort hotel and Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside, which has an inventory of 121 suites.

“The brand new all-suite urban luxury boutique resort hotel is a great addition to the group of Pan Pacific properties around the world,” said Mr Akihito (Arthur) Ikeda, President of Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts. “With its strategic location and bountiful amenities, the Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre is aligned to meet both the needs of business travellers and holiday makers, and will enhance our existing property at Whistler, giving our customers a greater choice.”

The Pan Pacific Village Centre offers hotel suites complete with full kitchen, fireplace, balcony, floor-to-ceiling windows and deluxe Aveda salon amenities. Hotel guests will be able to relax poolside at Pan Pacific Whistler's year-round outdoor heated swimming lap pool, or enjoy one of the hotel's two outdoor hot tubs, all with spectacular views of the local mountains.

The new resort also offers all guests a large buffet breakfast and heart warming après ski daily, inclusive to every rate. Guests at the hotel can expect 24-hour concierge service where the associates help guests organize activities as well as make dining arrangements.

“With the recent announcement that Canada has been granted approved destination status (ADS) from China, Whistler will benefit from the potential of tourists from the country with the largest and most critical emerging market of outbound travel in the world. The brand new Pan Pacific Village Centre resort hotel is now poised to help with the expected influx of tourists at Whistler,” added Mr. Ikeda.

Touted as being one of the favourite ski destinations in North America, in winter, guests can enjoy over 7000 acres of skiing terrain while in summer there are numerous leisure activities available for guests to pursue.

Other Pan Pacific properties in North America include Pan Pacific San Francisco, Pan Pacific Vancouver, Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside and Pan Pacific Mauna Lani - with one more property opening in Seattle next year.
