Travel News Asia 3 May 2005

Dragonair is offering some special airfares to 25 cities in its network to holders of Visa Platinum and Visa Infinite Cards in Hong Kong and Macau from today, as part of the celebrations to mark its 20th anniversary.

“The Visa Platinum Dragonair 20th Anniversary Privileges promotion is just one of the ways in which we are celebrating with our customers 20 years of serving Asia’s travellers,” said Singmay Chou, General Manager, Marketing.

“Fares to cardholders are just HK$1,020 to destinations such as Bangkok and Taipei, only HK$1,520 to Kota Kinabalu and Xiamen, and just HK$2,020 to Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo,” said Titus Diu, General Manager, Hong Kong and Southern China.

Other cities available for travel under the offer are: Fuzhou, Guilin, Haikou, Kaohsiung, Sanya and Wuhan (HK$1,020); Chongqing, Changsha, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo and Phnom Penh (HK$1,520); and Chengdu, Dalian, Dhaka, Kunming, Qingdao and Xian (HK$2,020).

“To facilitate travel for these customers, we’re establishing a special ‘Visa Platinum Dragonair Priority Check-in Counter’ at Hong Kong International Airport,” Mr Diu said.

Prudence Chan, Visa International’s Country Manager for Hong Kong and Macau, said, "This marks the second time we have worked with Dragonair to offer exclusive benefits to our cardholders. The previous results were very successful, so we are pleased to once again be partnering with Dragonair to provide such an incredible range of great deals as well as premium travel experiences, including the first-of-its-kind priority check-in service for our Visa Platinum cardholders."

To enjoy the special airfares, tickets must be issued before June 15 this year and paid for using a Visa Platinum or Visa Infinite Card issued in Hong Kong or Macau. A minimum of two passengers must travel together, with travel commencing between May 10 and July 8, with some blackout dates applying during this time.
