Travel News Asia 30 September 2005

Readying itself for the imminent launch of its second scheduled route to Hangzhou, Hong Kong Express, has taken delivery of its second 76 seat Embraer 170 passenger aircraft at a ceremony held at Embraer’s headquarters in Brazil.

Hong Kong Express takes Delvery of 2nd Embraer 170

The new aircraft, which will arrive in Hong Kong on October 1st and enter into service early next month, features the same single class cabin as the Airline’s existing Embraer 170 aircraft. Designed with the needs of today’s traveller very firmly in mind, the aircraft’s 2+2 seating configuration ensures all passengers enjoy either an aisle or window seat with plenty of personal space for greater comfort and privacy.

Speaking on behalf of Hong Kong Express, Mr. Andrew Tse, Hong Kong Express Chief Executive Officer said, "We have already received very positive feedback from our customers regarding the space and comfort onboard our existing aircraft. This affirmation of our offering together with the forthcoming route launch to Hangzhou gives us every confidence that we are on track to capture a healthy share of the market.”

The delivery follows the launch earlier this month of Hong Kong Express’ first scheduled flight – a four times daily service between Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Flights to Nanjing, Chongqing and Ningbo will be launched throughout the latter months of 2005 into early 2006 with delivery of the remaining two Embraer 170 from a total of four aircraft ordered by Hong Kong Express timed to correspond accordingly.

Hong Kong Express is first EMBRAER 170 operator in Asia.
