Travel News Asia 30 May 2005

“Wine and Dine in French countryside”, “Sahara trip in Libya”, and “Arctic Adventures in Finland” are some of topics that will be presented in travel seminars at the International Travel Expo (ITE) in Hong Kong this year. In addition, attendants will also be able to learn about chartering a cruise in the Mediterranean or cruising around the World, cultural tour in Latin America, driving tour in New Zealand, Safari and eco-tours in South Africa, to name but a few.

Two such up-market seminars specially for members of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and the Hong Kong Medical Association (HKMA) will be held respectively on Saturday on June 11 and Sunday on June 12, in order to cater for the travel needs of members of these two prestigious professional organizations.

“Findings from a survey made in the last year's ITE and extensive discussions indicated the growing needs for such up market travel seminars, especially seasoned and sophisticated travelers often take vacations for experiences too. We are particularly thankful for the supports by these prestigious organizations”, said KS Tong, Managing Director of TKS, which organizes ITE.

Far larger than its previous editions, the ITE this year features some 500 international exhibitors from 50 countries and territories, with 40 official pavilions / participations by tourism boards from all over the world.

ITE 2005 will be held from June 9 to 12 at Hall 1 of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, with the first two days open only to trade and the last 2 days to public. Tickets for the public day, priced at HK$20 each, are available in all outlets of Circle K and also at the travel expo.
