Qatar Airways is expanding capacity between Doha, capital of the State of Qatar, and Singapore with an extra two services a week taking frequency to daily for the first time, beginning today.

The extra flights will operate on Mondays and Thursdays, with an Airbus A300 in a two-class configuration of 18 seats in Business and 234 in Economy.

Qatar Airways previously operated five flights a week between Doha and Singapore. Three flights are non-stop, operating onwards to Cebu in the Philippines and two services fly via the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.

From the start of the summer season today, three flights will continue to operate non-stop to Singapore and the other four via Kuala Lumpur.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said the additional flights reinforced the airline’s commitment to operate routes with increased frequency and provide passengers with greater flight options to and from Singapore.

“As part of our route expansion plans, raising the number of frequencies between Doha and our key markets is crucial to serve the needs of our passengers, whether they are travelling on leisure or business,” he said.

“Singapore has been a highly successful route for us since we launched in November 2003 and we look forward to adding even more flights to the Lion City as we strengthen our fleet size and take delivery of more aircraft.”
