Mainstay Hotels renew agreement with Unirez by Pegasus

Travel News Asia 27 October 2005

Mitchell Corp New Zealand has renewed its agreement to use the Unirez by Pegasus™ representation service, and will expand its use among its portfolio of hotels and apartments. Based in Christchurch, New Zealand, Mitchell Corp is one of the largest hotel and apartment marketing and reservation service companies in Australia and New Zealand.

The Unirez by Pegasus service is used by the company’s Mainstay New Zealand Hotels. Through the Unirez by Pegasus service, Mainstay New Zealand Hotels are connected to the major global distribution systems (GDSs) used by travel agents, as well as to more than 1,000 web sites around the world. The service also includes a reservation system and booking engine that enables hotels to accept direct sales from their own web sites.

“This is additional technology for us and opens up our hotels and apartments to a worldwide audience through Pegasus connections to the major GDSs together with Pegasus’ affiliated travel portals and web sites. The Unirez by Pegasus service enables our rates to be automatically distributed to these distributors in real time, giving our hotels and apartments immediate access to travel agents and consumers worldwide,” said Matt Standing, chief executive officer for Mainstay.
