The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. launches New Spa Travel Packages

Travel News Asia 26 September 2005

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. has introduced four new spa travel packages to help promote physical relaxation and well-being: Relaxation, Essential Rejuvenation, Vitality, and an Ultimate Spa Experience. Each package includes overnight accommodations, a healthy welcome spa amenity and a Mandarin Oriental signature spa product, specific to the treatment, for home use.

Essential Rejuvenation

The “Essential Rejuvenation” is designed to revitalize dehydrated skin and ease muscle tensions. The two-and-a-half hour treatment includes a choice of an advanced facial with eye lift or age-defying facial with eye lift and an essential body massage. Prices range from US$ 789 for water deluxe accommodations, to US$ 1,269 for suite accommodations.

Relaxation

The “Relaxation” package aims to provide guests with an over all sense of well-being and relaxation. Guests’ tensions will be released with an ultimate body massage – a choice of either a deep tissue or aromatherapy massage, and a shirobhyanga (Indian) head massage. This hour and forty minute treatment with water deluxe accommodations is US$ 599 for one person receiving a treatment or US$ 949 for two people.

Vitality

The “Vitality” treatment is great way to jump-start a mind-body regimen. Guests will achieve equilibrium with a revitalizing body treatment and a fitness class to restore strength and energy. A salt and oil body scrub followed by a deep tissue massage will stimulate the muscles while enhancing the immune system. A personal training session of either a private yoga session or personal training session will introduce the latest in achieving optimal fitness. The two-hour and forty-minute session with accommodations starts from US$ 719 for water deluxe or US$ 1,199 for a suite.

Ultimate Spa Experience

With the “Ultimate Spa Experience” guests can enjoy a two-day, two-night indulgent journey. The first day of treatments eliminates toxins and frees the mind from stresses. It begins with a foot ritual followed by an essential body wrap to relax, hydrate and eliminate toxins. After the body has been prepared, an Ama (toxin) releasing massage is performed using warmed aromatherapy oils blended with medicated Ayurvedic oils from India. The massage is performed with long, flowing, repetitive strokes which encourage calm, quiet energy, and a rejuvenated sense of equilibrium. The massage incorporates treating the 108 marma points, which are small vital energy points or intersections along the body’s vital systems. The ritual concludes with a shirodara head treatment.

The following day’s treatments aim to restore and balance providing a sense of well-being. Guests will receive an advanced facial that will re-hydrate stressed skin. Next, the two-hour Time Rituals treatment, will lead guests on a journey of the senses that addresses their ‘dosha,’ (an Ayurvedic term for one’s spiritual makeup) in addition to their physical relaxation and well-being. This customized experience allows therapists to address guests’ individual needs. The holistic hot stones hand and foot treatment (with optional polish) will have guests looking as good as they feel.

Rates for the “Ultimate Spa Experience” begin from US$ 1,469 for water deluxe accommodations or US$ 1,949 for suite accommodations.

The rates quoted are for a Friday or Saturday night stay and are per night, per room. Each package has a different price for weekday arrival as well as a different price if two guests wish to receive treatments. All prices are inclusive of 18% spa gratuity and exclusive of room tax.
