Travel News Asia 23 September 2005

Smiths Detection, a leading provider of X-ray and trace detection equipment, recently opened a new office in Dubai, operating as Smiths Detection ME FZE, providing a base for both sales and technical support staff.

“Opening this office has profound symbolic and practical significance for Smiths Detection. It is a very important step in the global growth of this business, supporting national and international security initiatives and this is a highly appreciated opportunity to expand our footprint in the Emirates. Providing a local office for our customers and partners will offer much better access to our renowned quality systems and services,” said Stephen Phipson, Group Managing Director of Smiths Detection.

Smiths Detection’s Dubai office will be fully operational by the end of September, with administrative, sales and service staff. Located in the heart of the city, the new office is geared to support Smiths Detection’s growing Middle Eastern business and it is planned to extend its activities soon to the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries.
