Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur International Airport opens New Hotel Check-in Counter at KL International Airport

Travel News Asia 23 June 2005

The Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur International Airport recently opened the hotels new check in counter at the KL International Airport, which is strategically located at the Baggage Claim area of the International Arrival Hall. The counter allows guests with existing reservations and walk-ins to register at the airport.

The counter will be serviced by one manager, one front desk associate and two airport representatives. Operational hours are from 7a.m. to 11p.m. During peak periods such as during the Formula One and the Motorbike Grand Prix the hours of the check-in counter may be extended depending on demand.

According to Sharmini Moganasundram, Director of Rooms, "Since the counter was opened, we have achieved an average check-in of 50 rooms per day. The hotel is targeting to service at least 50% of the average daily arrivals of the hotel, which is currently 250 to 280 rooms per day."

Guests who provide their flight details at the time of booking will be met upon arrival by the airport representatives. They will then be led to the counter for check-in procedures while waiting for their luggage. Airport representatives will assist guests after they clear customs and then take them to the hotels buggy pick-up point for a door-to-door buggy ride to the hotel. As guests reach the hotel, they collect their key cards and head directly up to their rooms. With prior or special arrangements made at the time of booking, the hotel will also be able to assist those with handicaps as well as young or elderly passengers from the time they exit the plane, throughout their stay at the hotel and as they depart for their next flight.
