Tiger Airways offers 50% discount to all its destinations

Travel News Asia 14 September 2005

Tiger Airways, a low cost Singapore-based airline, has achieved several major milestones in its first year of operations. These include flying more that half a million passengers on its four new Airbus A320 aircraft; launching nine new routes of which four are the only non-stop service from Singapore, making a significant contribution to the dramatic increase in visitors to Singapore and creating more than 500 jobs in the airline and supporting industries.

“This is based on the widely accepted rule of thumb within the aviation industry that every million passenger carried creates around 1,000 jobs. Since Tiger Airways has already flown more than 500,000 passengers in our first year of operations this works out at more than 500 jobs. However the best is yet to come as Tiger Airways will increase its fleet to a total of nine A320 aircraft by the end of 2006. This will allow Tiger Airways to fly as many as three million passengers a year,” said Tony Davis, CEO Tiger Airways.

To celebrate its first anniversary, Tiger Airways is offering a 50% discount on all its fares to all its destinations. Bookings start on 15 September and ends on 20 September 2005 for the travel period from 15 October to 15 December 2005.

Tiger Airways growing network already covers ten cities in the region: Singapore, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hatyai, Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Macau, Padang and Manila (Clark).

Flights to Krabi, Tiger Airways’ 11th destination across Asia-Pacific, will commence on 7 October 2005 while pan-regional flights between Macau and Manila (Clark) will commence on 30 October 2005.
