Marriott
International has appointed Paul Toner as regional vice president sales and marketing for the Asia, Pacific and Australia region, reporting to Geoff
Garside, executive vice president for the region.
Most recently, Mr. Toner served as area director of marketing for the Pacific Islands and Japan.
In his new role, Mr. Toner will be responsible for the coordination of all sales and marketing
activities as well as developing an overall strategy for the region. This responsibility spans five lodging brands: JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels & Resorts,
Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Executive Apartments.
Mr. Toner joined Marriott International in 1985 and has served in various sales
and marketing roles in Washington DC, Boston, Orlando and Hawaii. He has also served as director of marketing for central and southern Asia, where he was
responsible for hotel sales and marketing programs, sales leader training and new openings. Mr. Toner is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of
St. Joseph’s University. He will reside in Hong Kong.
