Thailand's new 'Royal Phuket Marina appoints Jeanette Skelton as Marketing Manager

Travel News Asia 11 July 2005

Jeanette Skelton has been appointed Marketing Manager of the Royal Phuket Marina, a luxury lifestyle marina on Thailand’s paradise island of Phuket which is scheduled to open in December this year.

She is overseeing marketing, brand management and special events for the exclusive project, which features 400 luxury homes, 350 boat berths and 16,000 sq metres of upscale shopping, dining and entertainment.

The US$150 million Royal Phuket Marina is the island’s first ‘high-end’ residential marina ranking among Asia’s premier boating hubs. A “luxury lifestyle community” incorporating a Fisherman’s Wharf-style waterfront of restaurants and cafes, upmarket shopping retail-tainment complex, luxury spa, 5-star boutique hotel and exclusive private beach club on a nearby tropical island.

A former model, the gregarious New Zealander was previously general manager of Alibi, one of Hong Kong’s most fashionable bar/restaurants.

She was also Marketing and Public Relations Director for BB’s Bar & Brasserie, Special Events Director for the city’s cutting-edge 97 Group of restaurants and Salon Manager at Le Salon Orient for the illustrious stylist, Kim Robinson. At the heart of Hong Kong’s social scene, she was also volunteer Events Director for the Society for Aids Care.

Before arriving in Hong Kong, she ran her own event and entertainment company, Dream Works, in Sydney. Jeanette is also a major contributor to LUXE city guides.

Commenting on her new appointment, Ms. Skelton said, “It’s exciting to be part of the dynamic Phuket property scene with a development such as the Royal Phuket Marina. There is nothing else like this on the island, or for that matter in Asia at present.

“Its combination of luxurious marina living, easy access to one of the world’s most beautiful boating playgrounds and glamorous waterfront of stylish restaurants and shops is destined to put Phuket amongst the world’s great yachting havens as in the Mediterranean, Florida and the Gold Coast.”
