Royal Caribbean Cruises has appointed Adam Goldstein, one of the cruise industry's most respected leaders, to serve as Vice Chairman. Goldstein, a 30-year RCL veteran, will assume his new post in May, after having served as RCL's President and Chief Operating Officer since 2014.

Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) is to collaborate with Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) in a joint venture to upgrade and improve Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal (SPCT) in Georgetown, Penang, to accommodate berthing of larger cruise ships at its facilities.
3. RCL to Expand Silversea Fleet with Three New Ships
Royal Caribbean is to build three new ships for Silversea Cruises, the ultra-luxury and expedition cruise brand that recently joined the RCL family. Silversea signed a MOU with German shipbuilder Meyer Werft to build two new vessels in a new “Evolution Class”. The first Evolution-class ship is expected to deliver in 2022.
4. Royal Caribbean to Acquire 66.7% Equity Stake in Silversea Cruises
Royal Caribbean Cruises and Manfredi Lefebvre D’Ovidio have signed an agreement for RCL to acquire a stake in privately-owned Silversea Cruises. Under the agreement, Royal Caribbean will acquire a 66.7% equity stake in Silversea Cruises based on an enterprise value of approximately $2 billion.

The newest class of ships from Royal Caribbean Cruises will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and introduce the use of fuel cell technology, ushering in a new era of shipbuilding that will dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions. 6. Royal Caribbean Extends Cancellation Policy
Royal Caribbean has extended its 'Cruise with Confidence' cancellation policy to sailings through April 2022. For new and existing bookings created by 1 August 2020, customers have the flexibility to cancel their cruise up to 48 hours prior to sailing and receive a full credit of the cruise fare for a future cruise through April 2022.
7. Hyatt Appoints Joan Bottarini as CFO
Hyatt Hotels has appointed Joan Bottarini, currently Senior Vice President of Finance for the Americas at Hyatt, as Chief Financial Officer, effective 2 November 2018. Bottarini will succeed Patrick Grismer who has resigned from the Chief Financial Officer position at Hyatt Hotels in order to assume the CFO position at Starbucks.

British Airways has appointed Andrew Brem as Chief Commercial Officer and a member of the British Airways Management Committee. Andrew Brem will join British Airways on 29 October 2018 and will report to Chairman and CEO, Alex Cruz.
