Japan Airlines has entered into a strategic partnership with Boom Supersonic to bring commercial supersonic travel to passengers. Boom is developing a new-generation supersonic aircraft which flies at Mach 2.2, and could cut flight times in half. Through this agreement, JAL will provide its knowledge and experience as an airline to support Boom in developing the aircraft.

Minor Hotels Group has expanded its Avani brand to the Gold Coast of Australia with the opening of the Avani Broadbeach Gold Coast Residences. Occupying a prime beachside address on Surf Parade, the Residences offer travellers an upscale hotel experience served in a private apartment with the choice of hinterland, ocean facing or premier sky-high ocean views.
