145. Best Western Signs 41-Room Hotel in Bhutan
Best Western has signed a management agreement for a brand new 41-room hotel in the Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu. Expected to welcome its first guests in mid-2015, the hotel will join the company’s growing collection of Best Western Plus hotels. The hotel will feature a fitness centre, spa, bar, and a terrace lounge with views across Thimphu’s low-rise skyline.

The Small Maldives Island Co. will open two island resorts in the Maldives over the next twelve months. Located in the UNESCO protected Baa Atoll, Amilla Fushi will launch in December this year, followed by a luxury beach club concept resort called Finolhu in late 2015.

SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, is to launch direct flights between Singapore and Cairns on 30 May 2015, subject to regulatory approvals. SilkAir plans to operate the Cairns service three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, through circular routings with Darwin.

The 826-room Park Lane Hotel in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, is to rebrand as a Pullman hotel on 1 January 2015. A full renovation program, which will include a make-over of the Park Lane Suites, executive floors, dining outlets, meeting rooms and executive lounge, has already begun. The hotel also features three restaurants and bars, fourteen meeting rooms with a total of 10,371 sqft.
