Sofitel is continuing to expand in the worlds major cities, and this week opened its first hotel in Auckland, New Zealand. Formerly trading under the MGallery, also an Accor brand, the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour will be gradually upgraded to meet the Sofitels design standards.

Accor signs Four More Hotels in Thailand. Accor has signed an agreement of Fico of Thailand to develop four more hotels in the country. The hotels are the Novotel Bangkok Fenix Ploenchit, Novotel Bangkok Fenix Silom, Mercure Samui Fenix and Hotel Muse - a member of the MGallery Collection.

AccorHotels has strengthened its presence in northern China with the signing of three hotels in Beijing with the Luneng Group. The three hotels include the 300-room Pullman Beijing Luneng, a 150-room MGallery Beijing Luneng both of which are set to open in Q4 of 2018 and the 75-room Mercure Beijing Luneng, a renovated project slated to open in Q4 of 2017.
