Etihad Airways Finalizes GP7200 Engine and Fleet Management Agreements. Etihad Airways and the Engine Alliance have signed agreements for the purchase of the GP7200 engines to power its fleet of 10 Airbus A380 aircraft and for a long-term Fleet Management Agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the engines. The agreements are worth up to US$1.5 billion.
35. TUI Travel Orders Rolls-Royce Trent 700 Engines
Rolls-Royce has won a contract from leisure travel company TUI Travel to provide Trent 700 engines to power two Airbus A330 aircraft which will also be covered by TotalCare long-term support services. The aircraft will be operated by TUI’s subsidiary Corsairfly and the contract also includes TotalCare services for two additional A330s already in service with the airline.

Airbus has installed two flight-ready Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines on the first flight-test A350 XWB (MSN001). The new Honeywell HGT1700 auxiliary power unit (APU) is also being installed on the A350 at Airbus’ production facilities in Toulouse (France).
37. Russian Helicopters Delivers Mi-171 with VK-2500-03 Engines to China
Russian Helicopters has delivered a Mi-171 helicopter with VK-2500-03 engines to an undisclosed Chinese civil aviation company. The VK-2500-03 engine, designed and supplied by UEC-Klimov, is more powerful that the older TV3-117VM engine series 02, especially when used in high altitude due to its heat-resistant materials and improved design.
38. Jetstar Orders V2500 Engines for 32 Aircraft
Jetstar Airways, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Qantas Group, has selected IAE’s V2500 engine to power a further 32 Airbus A320 family aircraft. This is the third time that the airline has selected International Aero Engines as its engine provider since an initial order in 2004.

Rolls-Royce has signed a letter of intent with the Japanese carrier, Skymark Airlines, to provide Trent 900 engines to power six Airbus A380 aircraft, including TotalCare long-term engine service and support. The aircraft will enter into service in 2014.

Singapore Airlines has selected the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine to power its nine additional Airbus A380-800’s, which were ordered in 2006 for delivery between 2010 and 2011. The order complements the first 10 Trent-900 powered A380s, of which deliveries have commenced.
