204. Bhutan’s Drukair Signs Purchase Agreement for One Airbus A320neo
Drukair, the flag carrier of the Eastern Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, has signed a purchase agreement for one Airbus A320neo to support its growth plans and complement its existing fleet of three A319s. The aircraft will be powered by CFM LEAP-1A26E1 engines optimised for high-altitude operations and will become the largest aircraft operating out of Drukair’s base in Paro.

Virgin America Signs MoU for 40 Airbus. Virgin America and Airbus have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding for 40 Airbus A320 aircraft. The order will triple Virgin America’s fleet going forward. The airline indicated it would announce its choice of engines for the additional aircraft once the purchase agreement is finalized.

The Rolls-Royce Trent 7000, which powers Airbus’s latest aircraft, the A330neo, received its ‘ticket to fly’ from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on Friday, with the first production engines also delivered to the Airbus facility in Toulouse, France.
207. Singapore Airlines’ First A350-900 Scheduled for Delivery in Q1 2016
Singapore Airlines’ first A350-900 has been painted in the airline’s livery. The aircraft is now set to move to the next stages of production, including the installation of engines and cabin furnishing, before starting ground and flight tests. The aircraft is scheduled for delivery to Singapore Airlines in the first quarter of 2016.
