9. KLM Takes Delivery of First Boeing 787 Dreamliner
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. KLM acquired the airplane through leasing company AerCap. The 787-9 complements and extends the 787 family. With the fuselage stretched by 6 meters (20 feet) over the 787-8, the 787-9 can fly up to 20% more passengers and 23% more cargo.

Airbus has expanded its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) operations to include aircraft deliveries from its site in Hamburg, Germany. Air Transat took delivery of two brand new A321LR on lease from AerCap. Both used a 10 per cent sustainable aviation fuel blend to fly the aircraft from Hamburg to Montreal, Canada, non-stop.
12. Air Mauritius Takes Delivery of First Airbus A350-900 Aircraft
Air Mauritius has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The aircraft is being leased from AerCap. The Air Mauritius Airbus A350-900 features 326 seats in a two class configuration with 28 seats in Business Class and 298 in Economy Class.
13. Vietnam Airlines Becomes World’s 2nd Operator of Airbus A350 XWB
Vietnam Airlines has become the second airline in the world to operate the all-new A350 XWB. The A350-900 aircraft was delivered to global lessor AerCap on lease to the airline for operation on long haul routes. Altogether, Vietnam Airlines is set to acquire 14 A350 XWBs, including 10 ordered from Airbus and four from lessors.
14. Vietnam Airlines’ First A350 XWB Takes to the Sky
The first A350 XWB for Vietnam Airlines has completed its first flight bearing the airline’s distinctive blue and gold lotus livery. The aircraft will now enter the final phase of production, including cabin completion, as well as further ground and flight tests. The aircraft, which will be leased from AerCap, is scheduled for delivery in the middle of the year.
15. Hong Kong Airlines Takes Delivery of First Airbus A350
Hong Kong Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900, on lease from AerCap. Altogether Hong Kong Airlines will acquire 21 Airbus A350 XWB, including 15 purchased directly from Airbus and six on lease from third party lessors.
16. Air Astana Takes Delivery of First Airbus A321neo
Air Astana, the national airline of Kazakhstan, has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321neo. The aircraft is on an operating lease from Aercap, with the deal including two further A321neo and one A320neo aircraft for delivery planned in 2018.
