This year’s Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF) held at Lumphini Park in Bangkok from 17 to 21 January attracted 687,783 Thai and foreign visitors, up 8.64% on the 2017 event. Of the total, 651,188 Thai people visited the event as well as 36,595 foreigners. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched an official WeChat ‘Visit Thailand’ application for Chinese visitors. The app allows those in China, or Thailand, to ask for tourist information and assistance 24 hours a day by sending a simple text message to the application help desk. Users can also book accommodation and shop online.
12. Qatar Airways Launches Direct Flights to Krabi, Thailand
Qatar Airways has launched flights to Krabi, a popular tourist destination in Thailand. Flight QR824 is scheduled to depart Doha (DOH) at 05:30 and arrive in Krabi (KBV) at 16:20. The return flight, QR825, will depart Krabi at 17:20 to land back in Doha at 20:45.
13. TTM+ 2018 to Take Place at Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Pattaya, Thailand
This year’s Thailand Travel Mart Plus Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion (TTM+) will be held for the first time at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Pattaya from 13 to 15 June. A new 32-kilometre motorway has opened in Thailand’s rapidly developing Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The No. 7 intercity highway connects Map Prachan intersection between Chonburi – Pattaya, passing the Bang Lamung District and Sattahip District, Chonburi province, ending at the intersection with Highway 3, Ban Chang District, Rayong province.
