Commencing on 1 July 2016, Hong Kong Airlines will launch a twice daily service between Hong Kong and Narita Airport in Tokyo, Japan. Hong Kong Airlines will operate the route with Airbus A330 aircraft. Tokyo will be Hong Kong Airlines seventh destination in Japan.

Emirates has placed an order with Airbus for an additional two new A380 aircraft, to be delivered in the 4th quarter of 2017.
