At 00:50 GMT on Saturday, 19 March 2016, flydubai flight FZ981 crashed at Rostov-on-Don in Russia, killing everyone on board. Onboard the aircraft were 55 passengers including 33 women, 18 men and 4 children. The 7 crew members consisted of 5 men and 2 women. The nationalities of the passengers included 44 Russians, 8 Ukrainians, 2 Indians and 1 Uzbekistani.

Finnair is now using its new Airbus A350 XWB on flights between Helsinki and Hong Kong International Airport. Together with Shanghai, Bangkok, and Beijing, Hong Kong is among the first destinations to experience the Finnair A350 aircraft in long haul operations. Finnair expects to have 7 aircraft by the end of 2016, and intends to double Asian traffic by 2020.
