TravelShark has signed an agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group to place more than 100 IHG hotel properties on its rapidly expanding distribution network. The new deal adds 50 additional Featured Hotels to the 54 that were already being displayed on TravelShark’s global, major-market travel sites.

UTair Aviation of Russia has signed an order for 40 Boeing Next-Generation 737 airplanes. The order comprises seven 737-900ERs and 33 737-800s and is valued at $3.8 billion at list prices.
126. Avianca Orders Four A330-200Fs
Avianca has signed a firm order for four Airbus A330-200 Freighter aircraft. The new aircraft will be operated by Avianca’s cargo subsidiary, Tampa. The engine choice is expected to be revealed at a later date. Thee A330-200 Freighter will replace Tampa’s current cargo fleet and play a key role in expanding Avianca’s international cargo business.
127. STR Sees Continued Growth in South America
According to data compiled by STR Global, year-on-year RevPAR in South America for year-to-date August 2011 has increased by 26.8% to US$95, mainly due to increases in ADR which is up 21% to US$143. STR Global recently launched market reports for Lima, Caracas, Montevideo and Quito.
128. AirAsia to Increase Flights to Singapore, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and Miri
AirAsia is enhancing its connectivity from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and Miri by introducing additional flight frequencies to these destinations. With the new additional flight frequencies, flights between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore has been increased from 11x daily to 12x daily starting 30 October 2011, and then 13x daily from 15 December 2011.
