According to data from RRC Associates' Snowsport Economic Analysis, average gross revenues and average revenue per visit at resorts were both up from the 2009/2010 season. Gross revenues per resort increased 7.9% over the previous season, to an average of US$25.7 million per ski area., while total revenue per visit averaged US$77.24, a 5.4% increase over the prior year.

AirAsia X is to suspend its flights to Christchurch in New Zealand, as part of the realignment of its network to focus on its core markets. The current four times weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Christchurch will be suspended with the last flight on 30 May 2012 (from Kuala Lumpur) and 31 May 2012 (from Christchurch).
