Global corporate hotel bookings in April 2013 set a new growth record of +8.8% over the same month in 2012, according to Pegasus Solutions. The jump is the highest year-on-year increase in reservation volume through the global distribution systems (GDSs) since August 2011.

Last month, online bookings for leisure travel rose +4.6% over February 2013, and rates climbed a solid +4.0% higher. Increased consumer confidence and willingness to spend also contributed to leisure travel growth in February.
31. Bookings Fall as Rates Rise for Both Business and Leisure Travel
It was the combined group of regions outside of North America that realized reservation growth for leisure travel, returning +0.8% booking growth over June 2011. In the corporate market, global bookings dropped -10.6% over prior year as North America decreased -13.9%. Outside North America, corporate reservations volume was down -5.9%. The leisure market saw smaller declines of -5.
