of Koh Samui Hotels and also Reservations
of Hotels in Koh Samui.
Before
the hotel closed this was the description:
Surround
yourself with elegant yet rust old charm and step back in time and experience
a stay in a genuinely old Ayutthayan style house.
Hidden
amongst Samui's famous coconut trees, lush green foliage and colorful
bougainvillea on Chaweng Beach, the Princess Village is most travelers
idea of a perfect island retreat.
The
interiors, with their high pointed ceilings and numerous small windows,
are superbly furnished in traditional fabrics based on exquisite old style
Ayutthayan and Sukothai designs. Soft pastel bedspreads and matching shades
on stoneware lamps blend with the hue of the polished teak wood. Each
house has an antique dressing table and special little extras such as
a silver betel set, or a bronze lotus bowl. The bathroom carries on the
traditional theme, but beside the klong jar that would have been the only
bathing amenity in an old house, there are full modern facilities.
Cool
sea breezes should be sufficient refreshing but in case it gets too hot,
there is also a discreet air conditioner tucked away against the wall.
Outside
on the above ground terrace, there are comfortable Thai style cushions
and low tables to allow you to escape everyday reality and relax in these
perfect surroundings.
The
ground floor courtyard of each house is paved with mosaic tiles and each
possesses its own lily pond.
Around
the gardens, purple, orange, yellow and red flowers create a vibrant splash
of vivid colors. Adding to the picturesque old style setting, ox carts
are decoratively filled with colorful plants and coconuts.
