Tucked away amidst the rugged peaks of South-Central Sulawesi, the highland tribes known as the "Toraja" dwell in their unusual boat shaped "TongKonan" houses that resemble the vessels that once carried their ancestors. The Toraja Heritage Hotel is perched on a hilltop at 700 metres, in the tradition of the Torajan settlements, with superb views of the surrounding countryside.
